KijaniCooling Showcased at APRE’s Africa Initiative III Webinar

Virtual – June 2025

The KijaniCooling project was featured as an example of a successful EU–Africa research and innovation collaboration during the Africa Initiative III webinar, organized by APRE (Agency for the Promotion of European Research) on 30 June 2025.

The online event, titled “Africa Initiative III – European Calls for a Strategic Partnership between Europe and Africa,” brought together researchers, innovators, policymakers, and institutional stakeholders to explore new Horizon Europe funding opportunities and strengthen long-term scientific collaboration between Europe and Africa. The programme included contributions from the European Commission, alongside presentations from ongoing projects demonstrating the impact of EU–Africa partnerships.

During the event, the KijaniCooling project was presented as a practical example of how collaborative research and innovation can address shared societal challenges. The presentation highlighted the project’s approach to sustainable organic waste management, renewable energy generation, and clean cooling solutions, as well as its contribution to advancing circular economy principles and supporting Africa’s green transition through pilot activities in Kenya, Uganda, and Senegal.

KijaniCooling’s participation in the webinar reflects the consortium’s commitment to knowledge sharing, international collaboration, and strengthening partnerships that accelerate the deployment of sustainable and impactful solutions across Africa and Europe.
